Show Garden at Tatton RHS Flower Show
The Peak District through Time

The garden represents the process of past and present in the elemental forms of rock and stone, water, timber and plants, all of which have been harnessed for human progress.

The future may be seen on the sail sculpture floating above the garden, which looks transparent in its lightness. However, it casts its shade and effect over all below: a metaphor for all that has gone before and is yet to pass.

The materials used are local to the Peak District and reflect the changes that have taken place through time.  Reclaimed gritstone kerbs were used as stepping-stones across the water to a traditional dry stone wall at the back.  The wall was constructed from stone taken from an existing wall in the Peaks, which will be rebuilt after the show.

The scheme intended to create a space that is reflective, relaxing and enticing to the observer, inviting them in to sit down. It is a realistic scheme that the observer could see in there own garden.
