Rebecca works closely with you through a creative and practical design stage, then works closely with trusted partners and contractors to see projects from costing and paper through to completion.

STAGE 1 – Design
Initial Consultation
In order to become properly acquainted with your requirements, an inspection of the site and a consultation is essential.

Topographical Survey
Usually, depending on what the client requires, a survey of the site is required.
The site is measured to enable an existing site plan to be produced. It shows the boundaries, existing levels and existing features.

Sketch Design
A sketch design is produced which is then developed through consultation with you to enable a Master Plan to be drawn. This ensures that the finished design reflects your preferences and taste.

Master Plan and budget estimates
This incorporates your preferences and any changes required. It illustrates the overall layout showing the structures, paved areas, planted areas, the type of materials to be used etc.
An approximate budget estimate can produced to provide an indication of the total construction costs.

STAGE 2 – Construction
If your require the garden to be designed and constructed, the following process is usually followed. Space 2 Place works with trusted Contractors, which Rebecca has worked with and known for many years and have plenty of experience constructing a variety of gardens.

Working Drawings, Specifications and Tender Documents
With approval of the Master Plan by the client, Space 2 Place can prepare Working Drawings and Specifications for all phases of the project which are to be undertaken to enable it to be constructed.

Space 2 Place can also prepare the necessary tender documents and Conditions of the Contract to enable contractors to prepare their tender. They are invited to tender for the work and the winning contractor is awarded the contract. The contract is a Standard Form of Contract between Client and Contractor and is prepared to protect the interests of both parties.

Periodic visits can be made to inspect the construction work and check that the necessary progress and quality is being achieved. You are informed of progress throughout the job. Periodic Certificates of Payment are issued of amounts due to the contractor and inspections are conducted to establish Final Completion and ensure a satisfactory conclusion to the project for all parties.
