01 private garden
This is a proposed four apartment development in a Conservation Area in north Manchester. We were appointed by a firm of architects, on behalf of their client, to provide the drawings necessary to release the landscape condition as part of the planning application.

Brief
To produce the necessary drawings and information that would satisfy the local authority planners and enable the landscape condition to be released.

Solution
Traditional looking materials appropriate to the setting enhance the building and ensure the development is in keeping with its surroundings, particularly important in a Conservation Area and inline with local planning policy.

Existing trees on the site, recognised as valuable amenity features, required an arboricultural survey to help determine which were worthy of retention.  Once this was established we needed to demonstrate clearly to the Local Authority how these are to be protected during construction, in accordance with BS 5837:  Trees in Relation to Construction 2005.

The landscape proposals improve the building frontage, softening and integrating it into its surroundings, and further enhancing the street scene.
Amenity space as well as parking provision in accordance with planning policy is to the rear of the property.
